What happens to a V1CE card when an employee leaves?
When someone leaves your team, you have two options for their V1CE card and page: reassign it to a new employee, or deactivate it.
Option 1: Reassign the card and page to a new employee
This is the most common approach — the physical card gets handed to the new person and repointed to their page.
- Log in at app.v1ce.co and open the link switcher (click the name under the V1CE logo, top left).
- Select the departing employee's page.
- Update the page details with the new employee's name, title, contact details, and photo. This immediately changes what the card links to when tapped.
- If the new employee needs their own login, go to the link switcher and use Create New User to set up their account and link them to the updated page.
The physical card stays the same — no new card needed. The NFC chip now points to the updated page.
Option 2: Deactivate the card and page
If the card is not being reused, you can deactivate the page so the card no longer links to any profile.
Contact the V1CE team with the account email and the page you want deactivated. The team will disable it so the card no longer resolves to an active page.
Billing note:
CCOS is priced per user/cardholder. If you reassign the card and page to a new employee, the seat count stays the same. If you remove the employee and do not replace them, contact the team to adjust your subscription. See v1ce.co/pricing for current per-user amounts.
If the card was a free subscription card (provided as part of a CCOS subscription rather than purchased separately), it stops working if the subscription seat is cancelled and reactivates when reinstated.
