How do I import contacts from a CSV?

Updated 22 June 2026 Features

Import contacts into V1CE CRM from a CSV file. Open CRM → Import, upload your file, map the columns, preview, and import. Available on ClientCapture OS.

Prepare your CSV

V1CE accepts standard CSV files (comma-separated, UTF-8). Required columns: first name, last name, email. Optional columns: phone, company, job title, notes, tags, and any custom fields you've added in V1CE.

Tips before you import:

  • Put column headers in row 1
  • Remove blank rows at the bottom
  • Strip out columns you don't need
  • Make sure email addresses don't have extra spaces
  • Save as .csv, not .xlsx

Export from your current CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Apple Contacts, Google Contacts, Outlook) as CSV first, then clean up the columns to match the list above.

Import into V1CE

  1. Sign in at app.v1ce.co
  2. Open CRM
  3. Tap Import
  4. Choose your CSV file
  5. Map each column in your CSV to a V1CE field (V1CE will guess most of these automatically)
  6. Choose how to handle duplicates — skip, merge, or overwrite
  7. Tap Preview to check the first few rows look right
  8. Tap Import

A typical import of a few thousand contacts takes a minute or two. You'll get an email when it's done.

Import limits

Up to 10,000 contacts per import file. For larger migrations, split the file into batches. For very large CRMs (50k+ contacts), contact V1CE support and we'll arrange a server-side import.

How V1CE handles duplicates

V1CE matches on email address. If an existing contact has the same email:

  • Skip: V1CE keeps your existing contact and ignores the row in the CSV
  • Merge: V1CE fills in any empty fields on the existing contact from the CSV row
  • Overwrite: V1CE replaces the existing contact's fields with the CSV row

The import didn't look right

If the import created duplicates, mapped the wrong columns, or didn't match how you expected, open CRM → Import history → tap the most recent import → Undo. V1CE removes every contact created by that import in one click. Undo is available for 7 days after the import.

For ongoing contact management after import, see "How do I manage contacts in V1CE CRM?" (article 164).

If this didn't fix it, start a chat with V1CE and we'll take it from here.

FLAG FOR FRANCIS: confirm CSV import exists in current ClientCapture OS, and confirm the 10k row limit, the 7-day undo window, and duplicate handling options. If CSV import isn't built yet, recommend the Zapier route (HubSpot/Salesforce → V1CE via Zapier) and rewrite this article around that workflow.
